2026: let’s get started.

I read and watch all these things about how to make the new year the best ever. Or make you the best ever. Or whatever. Diet plans, exercise plans, praying plans, mental health plans… all that planning makes me want to lose my mind.

But I do like the idea of a word or phrase for the new year. So here is mine:

Do Less. Prioritize More. Pray Always.

Also this year, maybe I’ll use this old blog to track the year for my own benefit. Sort of a “see what you survived” tracker. And if I run out of gumption in a few days… well, refer to the first part of my 2026 phrase of the year.

So how are we starting the year? With cabbage. Because one of those inspirational messages said eat cabbage on New Years Day for good luck. Our cabbage comes in the form of bierocks. And because the girls and I watched many episodes of Great British Bake Off over the holiday, these beauties are from scratch. :)
