Sleichter Squad Summer Vacation Day 3

We had every intent of a slow start from Billings, MT, this morning. But my internal clock had me up at 5:15, John and Nat at 5:30, and so everyone was up by 6 a.m. After some grumbling and grouching, we got the van loaded and hit the road... to Krispy Kreme. And McDonalds, for tea. Then we hit the road and saw unique, amazing scenery.

Our lunch stop was a beautiful Ryans Lake Dam Park at Forsyth, MT. The picnic area was breath-taking. You could hear the roar of the dam, smell the dampness in the air. The picnic area itself was well-maintained, with open air and roof-covered tables. The big excitement was this little guy, whom Natalie almost stepped on. We later investigated and think he is a kind of rattlesnake. No harm, no foul, and a little more caution as we continue our adventures. Oh, and the menu? Sandwiches, chips, go-gurts.

And then, finally, we made it to Glacier.

Little hike, because Glacier closed at 4:30 p.m.
We then headed back to the cabin, got showers and packed for the next day, and enjoyed sitting on the porch, drinking a cold beverage, and watching the elk walk past our cabin. If you are looking for a place to stay, I would say confidantly that Glacier Homestead is worth every dime.
